Welcome to the Society for the Welfare of the Blind in Nigeria, a community-driven, non-governmental, and non-profit making organization dedicated to empowering and supporting blind individuals in their journey towards achieving their full potential.
Our organization was founded in 1999 by Emiola Tade, a passionate and visionary leader who himself is visually impaired. After experiencing firsthand the challenges and barriers that blind individuals face in accessing education, employment, and other opportunities, Tade was inspired to create an organization that could help other blind individuals overcome these challenges and reach their goals.
Since our inception, our mission has been to empower and support blind individuals in achieving their full potential. We believe that all individuals, regardless of ability, have the right to access information, education, and opportunities for personal growth, and we work tirelessly to create a world where this is possible for all.
To achieve this mission, we offer a wide range of services and programs tailored to meet the unique needs of blind individuals. Through these services and programs, we provide blind individuals with the tools, resources, and support they need to succeed in their personal and professional lives.
We offer education and training programs that equip individuals with the skills they need to succeed, as well as advocacy services that promote equal access and opportunities in the community. Additionally, we provide resources and support for families and caregivers of the visually impaired, to help them navigate the challenges of caring for a loved one with visual impairments.
We also work to raise awareness about the challenges faced by blind individuals, and to advocate for policies and practices that support their full inclusion and equality.
We believe that our work is essential, but we also recognize that we cannot do it alone. We rely on the support and generosity of individuals and organizations who share our vision and believe in our mission. Whether you are interested in volunteering your time and skills, making a donation, collaborating with us on a project or initiative, or spreading the word about our work, we welcome your support.
If you are interested in supporting our work or learning more about our organization, we invite you to reach out to us. Together, we can create a world where all individuals, regardless of ability, have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for the blind community by promoting equal access and opportunities, and by fostering independence and inclusion in society. We strive to create a world where everyone, regardless of their abilities, has the chance to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
We have a vision to create a world where the visually impaired are recognized and valued for their unique strengths and contributions; a world where they are empowered to reach their full potential, free from barriers and discrimination. Through our work, we hope to create a more inclusive and just society that values and celebrates diversity
